Le Château de la Greffière, that's above all :

History
A typically "mâconnaise" house and an old winery (restored to become a Museum) are the evidences of a wine activity since 1585. The buried cellar was built in 1789, then the castle in 1830, showing the success of the wine production.

Men
We are the third generation to produce wine at Le Chateau de la Greffière. Therefore, it's with experience that we make, each year, quality and expressive wines with numerous aromas.

Geography and grapes-variety
Our wine growing estate is in La Roche-Vineuse, in Mâcon area, in the South Burgundy. This area pretty hilly offers different appellations such as "Aligoté" ou "Mâcon La Roche-Vineuse". We are working with 4 Burgundian grape-varieties, "Chardonnay, Aligoté" used for white wines and "Pinot noir, Gamay" for red wines. It's not a coincidence that we use those grapes : they match perfectly with the soil to make quality wine. As we can see by the mass of AOC in the area, the grapes possesses various characteristics and offer rich wines such as "Bourgogne" or "Saint-Véran". Thanks to this privileged geographical place, we can propose you 8 different appellations at the winery.

Land
More than half of the vineyard is located around the winery. The clay and chalky soil combined with a South-West orientation gives us rounded and mineral wines.
